Special Advance for Principal Officers and Heads of Departments

A Special Advance for Principal Officers and newly appointed Heads of Departments was organized by Covenant University on Saturday, 23rd February, 2008 between l0am and 5.00pm. The Advance whose theme was Driving Excellence was aimed at briefing new Heads of Departments on their role expectations in their new assignment.

Some Principal Officers delivered papers at the event. Director of Financial Services, Mr. J. N. Taiwo spoke on Budgeting and Planning Considerations in Running Academic Departments while the Dean, Students' Affairs, Dr. D. A. Rotimi presented a paper on Expectations of Directorate of Students Affairs for the new Heads of Departments in Covenant University.

Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Olusola Ojo's speech centred on Our Postgraduate Emphasis and Role of Heads of Departments in Covenant University. The Registrar, Den. Yemi Nathaniel made a presentation on Administrative Excellence for Driving Effective Departments while the Vice Chancellor, Professor Aize Obayan spoke on Parameters for Driving Excellence: Expectations for Universities in 21st Century. The presence of the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo added colour to the occasion as he made a presentation on Leadership Imperatives for Driving the Covenant University Vision.

The event ended with the new Heads of Departments having lunch with the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Registrar and other Principal Officers.
