Excitement as new students arrive campus,
commence registration Monday,
September 03, 2007, was a day of joy and fulfillment of
dreams for newly admitted students and their parents as the
freshmen commenced formal registration and other academic
activities in Covenant University aka Hebron- the birthplace
of kings and queens.
The students, numbering about 1,600 were
accorded a warm reception by the University officials
arrayed in cream coloured T-shirts with bold inscription: ‘I
am available to guide you’.
Some of the students who could not hide their
feeling said they were excited and looked forward to having
glorious studies at Covenant University.
"
I am in love with the school, everything about
it is good all round. I hope to enjoy my
academic pursuit in the University and looking
at what is on ground I see no reason why all the
students shouldn’t have first class degrees. I
just love the school," enthused Emmanuel Marchie,
who gained admission to study Civil Engineering.

The day also featured an interactive
parents’ forum organized by the University management to
acquaint parents with the unique vision, mission and
training paradigm of Covenant University.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Aize
Obayan, while welcoming the parents on behalf of the
Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo, congratulated them for making
the right decision by bringing their children to study at
Covenant University, adding that it was a decision they
would not regret. She assured them they would be celebrated
in the near future for partnering with God in raising great
leaders for our nation and world in line with the
University’s compelling vision of raising a new generation
of leaders.
The Vice Chancellor also told them the
University was not only under oath to deliver quality
education to their children but it is also under oath to
make the University a home away from home as the new
students have become Covenant children via its in loco
parentis role.
The Registrar, Yemi Nathaniel told them
that God saw them before establishing Covenant University,
adding that they were in a place of destiny where God will
raise their Children as new generation of leaders for the
African continent. He said the University’s unique vision is
being validated through its two sets of graduates who have
been making outstanding impact in the workplace.

"The
mission/vision of the University is just what we
need for this generation. My daughter choose to
come to Covenant University because of the
academic atmosphere, which is very attractive
and captivating.
"She is going to make it no doubt with the kind
of training she is about to receive here and we
also do believe that by the time she is through
here she will become a blessing to her
generation.
"Not being sentimental, Covenant University is
the ideal place for any child. Here there’s
orderliness, which is next to Godliness, and
what we see with our eyes instills confidence in
the students. Thank God for the Chancellor, Vice
Chancellor, Registrar and everybody in the CU
community". |

"I
am a strictly religious person and this is just
what I want for our daughter, to be spiritually
brought up in this kind of God-given dream and
vision embedded with good values and discipline.
"In the next 5 years we will see CU surpassing
Harvard and the like. The academic environment
at CU is unbelievable in the country like ours,
a well-planned environment, beautiful
architectural designs and not just anything. We
are highly impressed with what we have seen and
even the sky cannot be a limit for CU.
"I was highly elated when I first came here. The
serenity, conduciveness of the atmosphere for
learning and academic exploits of the University
were too good to be true and we kept on praying
that God should please allow our child to be
admitted into CU and today we are the happiest
of all the parents here because we can already
determine the tomorrow of our child.
"I urged the Management of the University to
please keep up the great work and very soon
Nigeria will be grateful because of the products
of this great school will be releasing into the
world." |

"This
is not just a school or college, but a place
where destinies of children are moulded. You can
go to bed when your kids are here without fear
of any kind.
"We expect that our daughter would come out from
here a model, leader and an eagle that will turn
around her generation. When one looks at what is
on ground on this campus, it is just awesome and
fearful of what God can do. CU is today one of
the best University in the country.
"One of our church members who finished from
here has been doing tremendously well in all
areas of endeavour and I think every parent
should strive to bring their children here at
CU. My word for the University management is to
keep up the good work." |

"I was an Executive Director
in one of the banks in Nigeria. I had the
privilege of sitting in a Board saddled with
responsibility of hunting for best academics
both locally and internationally. I can tell you
that students from Covenant University are given
triple A rating in the banks. It may interest you to
know that Zenith Bank and Guarantee Trust Bank
are looking for students from this school more
than students from outside the country. It is
indeed a very welcome development and that is
why I want my child here." |
