Nigerian Association of Inventors Meets
@ CU
Few days after successfully hosting an international
conference/workshop on New Trends in the Mathematical &
Computer Science with Applications to Real World Problems,
which drew participants from Europe and the US, Covenant
University is again playing host to inventors from all nooks
and crannies of Nigeria. The Summit will take place between
June 28 and 30, 2006. The summit of inventors is being organized in collaboration
with the Federal Ministry of Science & Technology and
Federal Ministry of Commerce. It is aimed at promoting
invention and innovation activities in Nigeria and it will
feature young inventors’ exhibition and contest,
corporate\exhibition and seminar.

The summit will also serve as a platform for exchange of
creative concepts for promising Nigerian young inventors, thereby helping to
infuse the spirit of scientific research, invention and innovation in them. It
will support the realization of youths’ dreams in Science and Technology as well
as cultivate intellectual property. In addition, the summit will provide NAI the
base to select young inventors (6 – 19 years) to represent Nigeria at the
International Forum for Invention Promotion in India by December 2006.
Expected at the opening ceremony are the Chancellor of CU,
Dr David Oyedepo, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Aize Obayan, and Registrar,
Yemi Nathaniel, among other key officers.
Involved in the organization of the unique event are Prince
J.S Momodu, Chairman National Organizing Committee and Dr Aaron Atayero,
Chairman LDC, as well as Mr A.B. Williams. |
