Covenant University wins Best ICT Driven
University 2007 Covenant
University’s innovative application of information and
communication technology (ICT) in its teaching and research
methodology has been adjudged the best amongst private
universities in the country.
The University was recently crowned the
Best ICT Driven University 2007 at an award ceremony,
dubbed, "Titans of Tech" award night organized by ICT Africa
held at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel and Towers on April 6,
2007.

According to the organizers of the
colourful ceremony, which attracted dignitaries and key
players in the Nigerian ICT industry, CU emerged winner in
that category after a survey conducted by ICT Africa to
determine reputable organizations and personalities who have
distinguished themselves in the application of ICT in the
discharge of their business.
The University was honoured along sides
telecommunication giants like MTN, Celtel, Globacom and
Omatek Computers. Others are First Inland bank, United Bank
for Africa, Interswitch and University of Benin, who bagged
ICT Driven University 2007 (public).
CU was represented at the event by an
eight-man team led by the Chairman of the University’s ICT
Committee and Dean, College of Science and Technology,
Professor James Katende, who received the award on behalf of
the Vice Chancellor, Prof Aize Obayan. |
