Invitation To 1st
Convocation Ceremony Of Covenant University ‘The Release of
Eagles’
On October 21st, 2002, a radical
departure in the content and context of University education
in Africa commenced with the inauguration of Covenant
University at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Since its birth, the University has been
relentless in its efforts at raising a new generation of
leaders, through a rigorous pursuit of a new education
paradigm that places equal emphasis on learning and
character. The core intention of which is to produce
graduates, well-equipped spiritually, mentally and
physically with the in-built capacity and confidence to
confront the challenges of the 21st century in Africa and
beyond as well as cause radical and positive changes in
their world. In short, the training plan at Covenant
University is to graduate men and women who will in turn
become world changers.
The above are some of the noble goals
being pursued since the founding of the University about
four years ago. Now the time is set to send forth its first
graduates, an occasion we, at the University, have
christened the ‘Release of Eagles' because to us the
convocation of the charter students is not only historic and
momentous, but a time of validation of all the efforts of
stakeholders in causing a change in the education process
and the products thereafter.
In marking this unique occasion, a
week-long programme of activities has been lined up, and it
will be of great joy to the University's leadership,
management, faculty and staff as well as students for you to
be part of the historic witnessing from July 24-30, 2006.
We will be glad to receive you at the Convocation Ceremony
slated for Friday, 28 July, 2006, at the Faith Tabernacle
Canaanland, Ota.
