BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Lawrence Ogbeni is a qualified librarian, an alumnus of Delta State University. He is one of the pioneer staff of Covenant University. He has held various positions in the library including: Readers Services, Reference and Cataloguing Librarian. Presently, he is the Circulation Librarian directly in-charge of disseminating the over twenty thousand volumes of books excluding non print information resources available in the library to meet the information, education, research and other needs of the over six thousand library users. He has a special interest in library automation and library software development. Because of his area of interest, he was a co-supervisor of some final year computer science students who were interested in library software development as part of their project work.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: Primary School Leaving Certificate, West African Examination Council, Diploma in Library Science (DLS), Bachelor Degree in Library Science (BLS), Certificate in Computer Science.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION: Member of the Nigerian Library Association
