1. How many semesters constitute an academic session at Covenant University, and what are they  called ?
An academic session at CU is made up of two semesters, called Alpha and Omega.

Is Covenant University for Christians only ?
Covenant University admits qualified students from any religious background that are willing to subscribe to the rules and regulations of the University, which include regular attendance at the    chapel worship services by students, faculty and staff.

What is CUSAT ?
CUSAT is the acronym for Covenant University Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is the University's     screening test and is held once a year before the beginning of the academic year at designated centres worldwide.

Since we are taking the CUSAT, do we need JAMB to gain admission into Covenant University ?
By current regulation, all candidates seeking 100-level admission into any University in Nigeria must sit for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board's (JAMB) University Matriculation Examination (UME). While sitting for the UME is necessary, it is not sufficient for gaining admission into Covenant University.

Do we need to re-take the CUSAT every year ?
CUSAT is an annual test and, as such, needs to be taken only once. However, if a student does     not pass the examination the first time, he or she is eligible to retake the CUSAT as many times as it is offered again, until such time as he is eligible for admission.

What kind of undergraduate programmes do you offer ?
Presently, courses are available within three colleges:
    · College of Business and Social Sciences
    · College of Human Development
    · College of Science and Technology

When will the diploma, Pre-degree and Part-time programmes begin ?
The Council of the university is yet to decide on the time.

What about the Post graduate Programme ?
At the moment, CU runs an in-house postgraduate programme at Masters and Doctorate levels     for some qualified academic staff of the university only. This is part of the creative effort at     increasing the academic manpower base of the institution. The Council of the university is yet to decide on when the PG programmes will be extended to external candidates.

Can we pay instalmentally ?
This may be considered only on the basis of discretion.

If yes, what are the methods of payment?
Payments may be made directly to the University in cash, with an approved bank draft, or electronically, to a designated account.

12. What should I bring to school with me?

13. Which appliances can I bring to my room of residence?
Students are not allowed to bring appliances like blenders, stoves, boiling rings, portable hairdriers, pressing irons, etc. The University will provide any basic appliance necessary for  comfortable living.

Will I be able to cook in my Hall of Residence ?
There is absolutely no cooking allowed in the Halls of Residence. Students are required to take all their meals in the University Cafeteria on a pay-as-you-eat basis.

Do I need to register my car before bringing it on campus?
Students are not permitted to operate or park personal vehicles on Campus. The University shall provide transportation, when necessary, to any location on or outside Campus, as demanded by academic or sporting programmes.

17. Are students allowed to use personal cell phones?
Students are not allowed to possess personal  cell phones (GSM) anywhere on campus.  However phones facilities are provided for any student  to make contact with parents,  guardians, friends etc as at when needed.
