was a day of outpouring of encomiums on the
University as it played host to a high-powered
delegation from the nation's education
authorities, led by the Honourable Minister of
Education, Mrs Norah Chinwe Obaji. |

CLR becomes Centre of reference
|

The Centre for Learning
Resources, otherwise known as the University
Library, is blossoming and fast becoming a Centre
of reference for other institutions in the country
which now visit it in droves in search of
up-to-date information and professional advice in
librarianship. |

CU admits 1,583 at 4th matriculation

It was pomp and solemnity at
the matriculation ceremony for 2005/2006 academic
session for the newly-admitted undergraduate
students of the University, which took place on
Friday, January 27, 2006. |

Barely one year in office, the
Vice Chancellor, Prof Aize Obayan, has continued
to receive awards, accolades and recognitions for
her dogged commitment to charting pathways of
excellence at the cutting edge of knowledge in the
three core areas of the University- teaching,
research and community service. |

CU staff, student bag awards

Dr John A. Ayam of the
Department of Policy and Strategic Studies,
Covenant University, recently won the Senior
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship for the
2005-2006 academic calendar. The Fellowship took
Dr Ayam to various institution of higher learning
in the State of Oregon, USA. |

The University management is
making concerted efforts to match the University's
academic accreditation success with professional
validation of its porgrammes. |

A 31-member Student Council has
been inaugurated by the University management to
pilot the affairs of the students for the next one
year. |
