The College believes that research in a developing
country like Nigeria should focus on creating the
good life for the people through the application of
Science and Technology. Research for research sake
though desirable is not the priority of the College
for as long as poverty and ignorance predominate in
the Nigerian Society. The intention of the College
is to focus on the application of acquired
theoretical knowledge in the improvement of the
quality of life of the African.
Many of the researches that have so far been
attempted and are on-going include:
I. An automated Speech-Controlled
Customer-Care Service System.
II. A Study of Covenant University Sewage Treatment
Plant.
III. Passive Solar Drying.
IV. Developing A Virtual Learning Portal for
Covenant University.
V. Trends In Architectural Practice In Nigeria Since
1960.
VI. On IRNA Structures Using Graph Theory Methods.
VII. Design And Construction Of An Electronic
Scrolling Board For the College of Science and
Technology.
VIII. Impact of Air Pollution from Fossil Fuel
Combustion On the Society.
The College has made proposals for the setting up of
a Centre for Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and
Microbiology (CBBM), a regional resource centre with
the following goals and mission:
• To create a platform
for a strong national and international partnership
with the academia, industries and governments for growth
of biotechnology and bioinformatics.
• To promote research,
problem-solving, training and support for
entrepreneurship in the areas of applied
biotechnology, bioinformatics and microbiology and
• To utilize research
and development resources in bioinformatics and
biotechnology in harnessing untapped resources in
Nigeria and Africa.
The activities of the proposed Centre will embrace
research, training and support services for the
University and the Society at large. In the long
run, the College wants to make an impact on the life
of the people and also develop its capacity for
excellence. |
