FRANCIS IDACHABA
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Francis Idachaba read
Elect/Elect from the Federal University of Technology,
Yola in 1997 and served with the BUCO Steel Company, a
wire drawing firm in Owerri as the Factory Engineer.
There he was responsible for the maintenance of the wire
drawing machines, the control panels and the electrical
section of the factory. From there he picked a lecturing
appointment with the Federal Polytechnic Idah where he
taught courses in Electrical Power for one year and
Electronics/Telecoms from 2000 till when he left in
2004.
In 2000/2001 academic
session he proceeded to the University of Benin where he
obtained a Master of Engineering Degree in electronics
and telecommunications with a distinction and later
proceeded to Covenant University where he is currently
teaching: Use of Engineering Packages, Electronics, and
Data Communications.
He is also in the
advanced stages of his Ph.D. program at the University
of Benin where he is developing a system for extending
mobile communication to the rural areas of Nigeria
without the use of conventional base stations under the
supervision of Prof. F.O. Edeko.
He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and
also holds a Higher Certificate (distinction) in
Computer Information Technology.
