BACKGROUND
Samuel John was born on the 13th April 1967 at Nung-ukim,
Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He had his primary and
secondary education in Ogun State. After his secondary
education, he was offered the Federal Government
Scholarship through the Bureau for External Aid, Federal
Ministry of Education for Tertiary Institution tenable
in the Soviet Union now (CIS) – 1988 – 1994. He had his
preparatory classes i.e. the language class at Rostov on
Don, Russian Republic. In 1989, he was admitted to
Donetsk polytechnic Institute now Donetsk National
Technical University where he successfully defended and
obtained B.Sc, M.SC, MPhil and PhD degrees in Computer
System and network Engineering, specializing in
Computer, Computing, Systems and Networks in 1993, 1994,
2000 and 2005, respectively.
In July 1994 – June 1996, he was
employed as an Assistant Computer Technologist at
Donetsk State Technical University, Donetsk, Ukraine. He
returned to Nigeria in 1996 for his NYSC (National Youth
Service Corps). During the service year, he worked as a
System Engineer at Postgraduate School, University of
Ibadan, Computer Section, Ibadan, Nigeria. After his
service he worked as a System Analyst at Emmanuel
Consultancy Services, Lagos. He later left to Ukraine to
further his education.
Between July 1999 – June 2000, he registered for Master
of philosophy (M.Phil.) program (Scientific Researcher)
at Donetsk State Technical University, Department of
Computer Engineering under the supervision of Ass. Prof.
Alexander Anoprienko. In July 2000 till 2002, he worked
as a Scientific Researcher (Computer System Engineer) at
Sintal Limited, Donetsk, Ukraine. By October, 2003 –
December, 2004, he worked as Systems Engineer Researcher
at Black&White Style Ltd., Donetsk. Between 2002 -2005,
he worked as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of
Electronic Computing Machines, Donetsk National
Technical University, Donetsk where in 2005, he
successfully defended his doctorate degree in Computer,
Computing, Systems and Networks. Immediately after his
return to Nigeria in 2006, he was employed as a Lecturer
in the Department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering,
University of Lagos, Lagos.
He is presently a lecturer in the department of
Electrical and Information Engineering, Covenant
University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is a Member of
Information and communication Technology (ICT)
committee, he is also a course adviser, seminar
coordinator and Organization committee Member of
International Conference and Workshop of Covenant
University. He is a Member of the Institution of
Engineering and Technology “MIET”, United Kingdom. Since
1999 till date, member of Microsoft Certified
Professional (MCP) and a member of Nigerians in Diaspora
Organization in Europe, Ukraine Chapter (NIDOE).
His PhD research work was titled "Increasing the
efficiency of data exchange in computer network base on
the protocol of TCP/IP suite" toward increasing the
effectiveness of computer network in developing Science
and Technology worldwide. It is very necessary to work
and make research on the factors that really affect the
effectiveness of networking connectivity. The major goal
of this research was developing and designing simulation
models for analyzing computer networks, which allows the
full and exact features (during realization of the
protocols) and their influence on increasing the
efficiency of data exchange in local and corporate
networks. The method of increasing effectiveness
functioning in a computer network was offered by
perfection in modes of data exchange within them, which
allows an increment to its network performance in the
use of computer networks and network applications
without additional expenses on the infrastructure of the
network.
He supervised bachelor degrees thesis in Electrical and
Information Engineering and taught the following
courses: Random Processes & Queue Theory, Research
Methodology, Embedded System Design and Programming,
Microprocessor System & Interfacing, Computer networking
and security, Electronics circuits and application. He
has a good knowledge and grasp of computer languages &
software such as: C, C++, Pascal, Assembly Language,
Java, WordPerfect, MS OFFICE Word, Visio, TCP/IP,
Computer Network Administration, HTML, Computer Network
Configuration, MATLAB/SIMULINK, STATEFLOW, NETCRACKER,
AUTOCAD, HTTP, ORCAD, WWW, HTML, Training, Testing,
Trouble Shooting.
He has completed course projects in
the following specialized areas: Programming, System
Programming, Applied Theory of Digital Machines,
Computer Design and Advanced Systems, Control Computer
Design, Applied Mechanics, Digital Principles and
Systems, Network and Technology of internet, Business
Management Organization in Computer Process.
Dr Samuel Ndueso John is a Nigerian and happily married
with a daughter. He enjoys playing chess, football and
reading.
