Graduation Requirements
1. To qualify for graduation, a Mass Communication
major must have satisfied the examiners in all
core/compulsory, elective and optional courses
offered, as well as in the University’s and College
of Human Development’s custom-built courses. In
other words, all NUC-prescribed and CU-prescribed
General studies courses re classified as
“Compulsory” for purpose of graduation.
2.a. The would-be Mass
Communication graduate of Covenant University should
also participate gainfully in the “media attachment”
scheme which will be undertaken at a time between
200 and 400 levels deemed to be suitable and
convenient by the department.
b. Each student will present a report of his/her
experience (and his/her portfolio to that effect
where relevant).
3. Each prospective grandaunt must have attained
an average of 75% class attendance every semester in
the course of his/her 4-year programme.
4. The scores in each subject at each level will
be distributed as follows:
i. Continuous assessment: 40 marks (including
mid-semester examination scores)
ii. Final Semester Examination: 60 marks
5. The student’s final project must be of a high
standard.
6. Degree will be classified as prescribed by NUC
in its minimum academic standards guidelines.
