PROFILE
Ms Oluwatoyin Oluwaremilekun Oluwaniyi, PhD, is
currently a lecturer at the Policy and Strategic
Studies programme of the Department of Policy and
Strategic Studies, Covenant University, Canaanland,
Ota, Ogun State. She obtained her Doctoral Degree
from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of
the Social Sciences, University of Ibadan, Ibadan,
Oyo State, Nigeria and the title of her thesis is
“The Phenomenon of Child Soldiers in Liberia and
Sierra Leone”. She obtained her Masters Degree in
International Relations from the Department of
Political Science, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo
State, Nigeria and Bachelors Degree in Political
Science from the University of Maiduguri, Maiduguri,
Bornu State, Nigeria.
She teaches Conflict and Conflict Resolution,
International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights,
International Peacekeeping and Strategic Thought.
She is an academic adviser to 100 Level Policy and
Strategic Studies students.
She is a beneficiary of several grant awards, which
include, Travel Grant from West African Research
Centre (WARC), Senegal/West African Research
Association (WARA), Philadelphia, U.S.A in 2000;
Grant from CODESRIA in 2004; Grant from Harry Frank
Guggenheim Foundation in 2004 and Grant from Centre
for Research on Inequality, Human Security and
Ethnicity (CRISE), Oxford in 2006.
She’s a member of CODESRIA, Dakar, Senegal and
African Association of Political Science (AAPS),
South Africa
Her areas of research interests include: Conflict
and Conflict Resolution in Africa (especially as it
concerns women and children), Post-Conflict
Reconstruction, International Humanitarian Law and
Development issues. |
