The vision of the Unit is established as a standard in line with National Universities Commission’s (NUC) laid down rules and regulations as stipulated in the NUC Management manual. This vision has been mapped out along with University’s vision as listed below.

The objectives have always been alive and in line with the University core values – Spirituality, Mentality, Capacity-building, Integrity, Responsibility, Discipline and Sacrifice.

On February 27th, 2005 the National University Commission paid an accreditation visit to the University and on March 28th, March 2005 the breaking news of the University successful accreditation exercise was released to the nation with the accreditation of all the (16) sixteen programmes presented for the exercise. They are Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, Architecture, Estate Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Mass Communication, English Language, Psychology. The following programmes got full accreditation – Architecture, Computer Sciences, English Language, Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Relations & Human Resources Management whereas the others all got interim statuses. Thanksgiving services were offered in the Faith Tabernacle and the University chapel at different times and a World Press Conference was called to highlight the pursuit of distinction, the University next target after accreditation for us to maintain our status quo.

The Unit will continue to put in all its best to make sure that the University is further nationally recognized and awarded merits in the areas of research and academic performance and work toward achieving the following:

1.Maintenance of a stable academic calendar
2.Stimulating a Vibrant research Culture
3.Improving facilities for Teaching and Research
4.Compliance with carrying capacity standards
5.focus on areas of have strength with a view to setting up centers of Excellence.
6.Build strong International Linkage with Foreign Universities
