PROFILE

Seasoned Secretary and Administrator with experience spanning over 15 years in various organizations. Highly resourceful and proficient in office administration; versatile on the computer with proficiency in a wide range of software applications and handles sensitive information very confidentially. Holds an HND in Secretarial Administration and Bachelors Degree in Public Administration

Typical Work Activities

As personal assistant (PA), he works closely with the Registrar to provide day-to-day administrative support. Helps the Registrar to make the best use of his time by dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks.

As the first point of contact with people from inside and outside the University, he is saddled with various responsibilities which include:

 screening telephone calls, enquiries visitors, requests and handling them if they do not necessarily need to be passed on;
 organizing a diary for the Registrar;
 making appointments;
 dealing with incoming e-mail, faxes and post;
 converting briefs into standard communication document;
 writing letters and reports;
 carrying out background research into subjects the Registrar is dealing with, and presenting findings in an easily digestible form;
 organizing meetings;
 liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff;
 devising and maintaining office systems to deal efficiently with paper flow; and the organization and storage of paperwork, documents and computer-based information.
 supervises junior staff attached to the office of the Registrar
 relates with other units under Registrar such as Catering Services, Consultancy Services, Health Centre, The Stores etc on behalf of the Registrar.
 oversees the University pool vehicles
 any other duty that may be assigned by the Registrar from time to time
