CENTRE FOR SYSTEMS AND INFORMATION
SERVICES (CSIS)
The Centre is a support unit dedicated to providing
state-of-the-art information technology and communications to students,
colleges, researchers, and staff for instruction, general research,
administration, and public service in support of the University's
mission for change and departure from the traditional university
education.
To achieve the broad aim, CSIS provides a myriad of computing and
communication services to the University.
- Develop and maintain an adequate Information System for the
day-to-day running of the university
- Develop and maintain appropriate application software systems
to support data processing and computing applications.
- Build and maintain/control a Local Area Network
- Develop and maintain an intranet i.e. university-wide electronic
information system.
- Build and maintain IT-based communication for the University
in the area of Internet Websites
- Provide adequate information system that provides answers
to enquiries about students and staff automatically.
- Set up and operate a COMPUTER CENTRE which provides services
that include but not limited to:
- Training center for both staff and students
- Cybercafé to provide enquiry and data entry points for both
staff and students.
- Laboratory for students.
