The Center for systems and
Information Services (CSIS) provides IT services and
support for teaching and learning, research and
administration and library facilities across the
University.
We aim to encourage, enable and
evaluate the use of technology in learning, teaching
and research at the Covenant University.
Collaborating with the Academic
planning units, the centre for systems and
information services provides the much needed
computing platform Part of our future strategic plan
is a provision of Computing services to include
24-hour access computer rooms, an IT Help Desk, the
CUCAN (Covenant University Campus area Network)
service which will allow room access to the
University network and the internet for students in
University accommodation as well as the Mobile Service, which provides
a simple means of connecting securely to network
resources and the internet independent of location -
around the University precinct or at home.
If you have a notebook computer,
you can connect at various areas around the
University including the cybercafé. The Mobile
Network is intended to assist members of the
University requiring casual mobile network
connectivity. It is designed to supplement other
facilities with the provision of: Wireless on-campus
access (mainly in public areas such as libraries),
Wired on-campus access (in certain public areas and
departments) and Offsite remote VPN access We are
aware that there is a growing requirement for all
forms of wireless, mobile and remote access, for
staff, students, and visitors to the University.
These remain important facilities that Information
Services intends to offer. |
