Students and Faculty in the College of Science and
Technology.
The CSTMPL is managed by the Technology solutions
center, a part of the Center for Systems and
Information Services.
The lab has been evolving for
approximately three years and will continue to
evolve as new technology becomes available and old
equipment is retired. It started out with 100 IBM
computers and eighty clone computers but has grown
to approximately 350 computers in 6 main lab areas.
During the summer of 2005, a great leap forward took
place with addition of 250 units (Two hundred and fifty new Pentium 4/3.2GHz
computers that were deployed in the main CSTMPL
labs. The older 100 IBM computer units that
were displaced were relocated
to the Accounting and Economics Laboratories at the
college of Business and Social sciences, for year
three and four hundred level students. All computers
at the CSTMPL will be running dual Linux and Windows XP
Pro operating systems and will be available to final
year computer science, MIS and engineering students.
All this with a view to
